GILLOOLY, Valerie Ita (née Hackett). On Thursday 9th July 2026, Valerie passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, at Aria Bay Retirement Village, aged 88. Treasured partner of John Rockell and much-loved wife of the late Mike Gillooly. Beloved Mum and mother-in- law of Karen, Terry and Sandra, Stefan, Mike and Susie, Bernette and Nigel, and the late Debbie. An adored Nana to her 15 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. A Memorial Service to celebrate Valerie’s life will be held at the Settlers Cottage, Auckland Memorial Park Cemetery, East Coast Road, Silverdale at 11.00am Friday 17th July 2026. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Cancer Society.
